The Hateful Eight Seed Oils

The Hateful Eight Seed Oils - canola, corn, sunflower, safflower, soy, grapeseed, rice bran and cottonseed. They contain high amounts of Omega-6 PUFAs. The most common is Linoleic Acid which has previously been thought to cause inflammation that leads to disease.

Recent studies have shown that linoleic acid does not in inflammatory markers and may be associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease.

Americans consume omega-6 and omega-3 PUFAs at a 17 to 1 ratio as compared to the recommended 2 to 1 ratio.

Seed oils are highly prevalent in fast food and processed food. Maybe the issue isn’t Omega-6 PUFAs but the amount we are consuming in fast food and processed food.

Eat whole foods; vegetables, nuts, seeds, meats, fish, and fruits, in this order, at levels that support exercise but not body fat. Supplement with an Omega-3 fatty acid.

Try olive oil instead of seed oils and avoid reheating oils as that can lead to further chemical breakdowns that are unhealthy and possibly carcinogenic. Also, avoid heating oils to high temps that cause color changes and smoke.
